Unforeseen circumstances forced me to
miss the very first EDET class on Tuesday 4th October, 2016, but my colleagues
informed me that it was indeed interesting, exciting and unusual, and that the
instructor was quite high-spirited.
There was a debate held on the
importance of technology in education, followed by discussions on the pros and
cons of technology, old and new technology, the learning styles of students and
various ways in which technology could be utilized in the classroom/ in
education to make the environment more active / interactive.
I apparently missed a lot but what
I find interesting is that technology refers to anything that makes your life
easier; technology helps to reduce labor and assists in accomplishing many
tasks more effectively and efficiently; that technology refers not only to
electronic devices, but other items such as pens, pencils, post-it-notes and
even pull-bags. I learnt something new!
